What we can't take
Mostly hazardous materials and a few things that need specialty handlers. If you're not sure where to take them, ask — we can usually point you somewhere.
- Asbestos (requires licensed abatement contractor)
- Hazardous chemicals: paint solvents, thinners, pesticides
- Gasoline, kerosene, motor oil (in volume)
- Propane tanks over 1 lb
- Medical waste, sharps, prescription medications
- Live ammunition or explosives
- Anything actively on fire or smoldering
